SUNBURST YOUTH CAMP

Sunburst Youth Camp’s aim is to build bridges by connecting the youths across Asia. By spending a week together, we make new friends, understand each other culture and build on the goodwill generated by our shared experiences in Singapore.

This camp requires communication and social skills to benefit from it. Teamwork activities such as rock-climbing and raft-building, at Outward Bound Singapore and Urban Challenge, were implemented to enhance communication between participants. Although English is the most common language at SYC, I believe that having a variety of language can improve communication between oneself and others. With an additional language, Mandarin, I made friends with Chinese and Cambodian delegates because we have a 2nd common language.

In my opinion, the best part of SYC is not the activities or being in a foreign country, but the exchange of cultural knowledge between participants. To me, it’s very interesting just by having a one-on-one talk with a foreign participant about each other personal interests and culture.

SYC is definitely a very rewarding experience for me. It increased my knowledge about 12 other countries and has allowed me to make some life-long friends. In this december cambodia join sunburst youth camp too.
